Sega Seeks VF5 Data For PS3 version.

Are you a Virtua Fighter fan? Do you reside, legally, in Japan? Are you registered with Sega's VF.net service? Do you have a home internet connection, or failing that, access to a cell phone with web access?

Let's see... yes, that's about it.

If all this applies to you, you could play a starring role in the PlayStation 3 version of Virtua Fighter 5. Sega has started seeking VF5 arcade player data for use in the upcoming home version. Those players who are selected will have their character, with all equipped items, appear in the game, along with ring name, introductory text, battle record and level. These user characters will appear as rival characters, when you face off against the CPU for instance.

Sega held a similar promotion for the PlayStation 2 version of Virtua Fighter 4.

The best part about this promotion is that you won't know if you've been selected or rejected until you manage to actually see yourself in the game! Oh, and Sega will also be rewarded all those who take the time to apply with 1000G, good for making purchases in the VF.net service.

Interested parties should check out Sega's Japanese VF5 page.
